“We want to ensure that transportation issues don’t hinder individuals from contributing to our workforce and achieving stability.”
– Tim Landholt
Tim Landholt is no stranger to the Cola Town Bike Collective. He founded the organization in 2011 as the Cola Town Bike Cooperative, following the footsteps of the Blackbird Bike Cooperative. After leading the organization for two years, he passed the torch to the current Executive Director, Scott Nuelken. Now, Tim is thrilled to return to the organization that he helped build. “This feels like a homecoming,” Tim expresses. “I’m incredibly grateful to Scott and our exceptional board of directors for fostering the success of the Cola Town Bike Collective mission, which has made my employment here possible.”
As the Transportation Director, Tim Landholt will spearhead the Reliable Transportation Initiative, an integral part of the Cola Town Bike Collective’s efforts to provide affordable transportation with low/no cost bikes & bike accessories to those in need across the Midlands. Tim strongly believes that access to reliable transportation should not be a barrier for individuals seeking employment or improving their circumstances. “It’s already challenging to find a job while unhoused,” Tim explains. “We want to ensure that transportation issues don’t hinder individuals from contributing to our workforce and achieving stability.”
In addition to his role as Transportation Director, Tim will also serve as the Volunteer Coordinator. He encourages individuals from all walks of life to join him in this noble and benevolent work of improving the city. “Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or a beginner, we welcome anyone who wants to make a positive difference through community engagement.” Tim affirms.
We are thrilled to announce extended Shop hours!
With Tim joining the team, starting July 5th 2023, the shop will now be open Monday through Friday, from 10am to 6pm. We hope the extended hours will allow for us to have a greater impact, and meet the needs of more of our clients.
The Cola Town Bike Collective remains steadfast in its commitment to its mission. As a charitable organization, it continues to provide bikes to those in need, educate and empower the riding community through its low/no-cost bicycle shop, and create a welcoming space for learning bike repair, maintenance, and safe operating practices. The organization also actively promotes community engagement through various outreach activities.
